What's going on guys?
Jimmy here. It's 3:30 in the morning and i wont be going to sleep any time soon. The studio has totally demolished stability in my sleep schedule.

So as promised, we spent the last 2 days in the studio recording demos... and are going back tomorrow night to get to work on mixing. We can't wait to make this stuff available to you guys :-) The songs are sounding pretty sweet... I think those of you who aren't local and haven't been able to hear the new stuff live are in for a surprise.

Tommy from 13 Yards has been a great dude throughout the process... very easy to work with and I've got a lot of confidence in his work so far. We got a special visit late tuesday night/monday morning from Dave Rossi, former 13 Yards bassist :) What a great time that was... he brought water and munchkins.

At first I intended to make this journal all about band related news... but I think it may work out to be a pretty nice outlet for me to get stuff off my chest, so I hope you all don't mind if I start posting more personal entries on here. For the most part I tend to lead a life run solely by Vallon, but whenever exciting/crazy/weird things happen outside the band, I'd love to be able to share them with you guys haha.

Well I guess I'll leave it at that for tonight... I'd love to write more but this post is about band stuff :) I'll save my personal thoughts for a seperate entry tomorrow night or something. I'll keep you all updated on the recording stuff as well! Thanks for reading friends :-D

Taste Of Chaos, Living Room, Future

mood: happy happy
music: Every Time I Die - Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Battery

Whats up everyone!!
First off, I'd like to thank my friend Lindsy for pointing out that I've been neglecting our Live Journal <3

Okay, so quite a bit has been going on since the last post back in February. We played a couple sweet shows in Ipswich and Saugus to some pretty awesome crowds :) More recently, we played the Taste Of Chaos, and the next night, the Living Room with Vanna and the Homefront!

Taste Of Chaos was surreal. There is no other word for it. To anyone who voted for us throughout the course of the Ernie Ball competition, we will never be able to appropriately thank you enough for giving us this opportunity. We got to the Tsongas Arena in Lowell at about 12pm, when we were told to be there. We ended up sitting in front of the venue with our van and trailer for almost 2 hours before getting to load in, but it was pretty sweet because all the kids in line were coming over and hanging out.
As we were loading in, the guitarists of Avenged Sevenfold were outside their dressing room stretching, then they ran off and starting doing laps around the venue. It was funny loading our stuff in and just walking by members of Atreyu and Bullet For My Valentine. After getting all of our stuff inside, we carried our merch to an elevator and brought our stuff up to where everyone else was setting up their merch. We were put next to the 'Shirts For A Cure' booth... I'll talk more about that in a bit.
At about 4:15, we soundchecked. It was crazy hearing how loud everything was from the stage. Immediately after soundcheck, the stage manager told us that Idiot Pilot wasn't showing up... which meant our opening timeslot was going to be left open, then D'espairsray played first at 5:20, and we played 2nd, Idiot Pilot's time slot, at 5:50.
5:35 rolled around, and we were called to the stage. There is literally no way to explain the feeling I had walking up onstage to get ready to play. The floor was flooded, almost every seat in the stands was full. D'espairsray finished, and the lights shifted to us. We played 5 songs and it seemed to go by in seconds... but it was the best 25 minutes of my life. Looking out at everyone in that room was literally a dream that I never thought would come true. Hearing them cheer after every song, it was hard to hide the smiles on our faces. The only thing I didn't expect was how clearly I could make out every face in the crowd. When you're somebody down in the crowd looking up at the stage... you feel like you're just some kid in a sea of people. But being up there and looking out, I could see every single person there. I could see every kid cheering, and I could see every kid who was giving us the finger waiting for the next band.
After playing we spent the majority of our time at our merch table pushing or CDs on people. The guy running the Shirts For A Cure booth kept yelling at us because our friends were standing in front of his table selling CDs. Admittingly thats not very cool, but he didn't have to be so uptight about it.
The entire night was amazing, and Blessthefall wins the award for coolest band on the bill. Our merch tables were basically right next to each other, so we ended up having some fun with them (and giving them a mass of free vallon merch to wear on tour). Another highlight of the night was having Justin Girard with us taping the whole thing, who was a great / entertaining dude, especially after a few drinks haha. All in all, Taste Of Chaos was amazing. We'll never forget it.

SO!!! The night after Taste Of Chaos, we played to a sold out crowd at The Living Room with Vanna and The Homefront. There was a lot of confusion about the order of bands, and we ended up opening the show... which didn't really matter to us because the room was completely full. The energy in the room was INSANE... the kids were going nuts and so were we. The Homefront played an amazing set... and Vanna absolutely killed it. I don't know that I've ever seen kids go so crazy at The Living Room. Needless to say, it was not a disappointment. The entire weekend was amazing.

On that note, new songs are coming! Tomorrow, we will be going into the studio with Tommy from Thirteen Yards To Victory (buy 'Reflections') to record 5 new demos. We will post a few online so you guys can sing the words to us at our shows <333

Okay this post is way too long, im gonna take off. LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Freakin Sweet

location: GL
mood: cold cold
music: OLN - Timing Is Everything

So Moosup, CT was pretty sweet last night. A good amount of kids showed up for a rainy cold night of a show and we all had a great time. Nick from RY also streamed the show live on Stickam which was... different, but some of our middle america / west coast friends got to check out our set, so it was pretty cool!
The highlight of the evening was seeing the Jonah Veil / LIA guys. Haven't seen either of them for a while so it was really nice, although the JV boys scooted out early to go play another show, weird :-P.
Coming soon for Vallon... more song writing and demo recording, with a lot of sweet local shows mixed in. Summer tour is in the works, the dates should be posted very soon :) Lets just say we are going to make it to a LOT of places we never have before.
Im gonna go :) but everyone have a safe weekend! And come out to the following!!!:

February 15th - St Lawrence Hall, Ipswich MA
February 16th - Saugus YMCA, Saugus, MA
February 22nd - The ICC, Allston MA
February 23rd - Nashua American Legion, Nashua NH

Thanks for reading! Take care!

Vallon's LiveJournal!!!

Jan. 27th, 2008 | 10:33 am
location: GeekLab
mood: cold cold
music: Between the Buried and Me - Selkies

So to anyone who had previously checked out Vallon's livejournal, it has clearly been restarted. We had about 15 posts on here from 2006 and it didn't make much sense to leave them up seeing as it was all very old news.
This is the new Vallon livejournal, and hopefully this time around, we will do a better job at posting new entries on a more regular basis :) So check back, and hopefully we'll have some stuff for you!
